The Shattered Glass Project Presents The 2026 New Works Festival, with Four World Premiere Plays!

The Shattered Glass Project is pleased to present four world premiere plays written by female/non-binary-identified playwrights in the 2026 New Works Festival: New Voices, New Narratives. Ranging in style from lyrical, philosophical, mythical and naturalistic, our four selections elevate new and diverse voices re-examining traditional narratives and socially relevant topics through the visceral medium of live theater.
Featuring diverse, intersectional local casts & production teams, including Anatomy of Flight (by Lisa A. Price, directed by Zanne Gerrard), an eco-thriller exploring climate change, scientific integrity, ambition, and the moral compromises hidden beneath achievement; stop your crying baby (by Max Koh, directed by Monty Rozema), a contemporary tale of two estranged friends – one declaring there will be an apology for wronging the other, after which they will never see each other again; The Souls of Larks & Sparrows (by Véro Lecocq, directed by Emily Fortuna), a tale set in the afterlife as two familiar literary, historical characters come to recognize what they both want is to to honor the complexities of their unique voices; and Loom (by Carolynne Wilcox, directed by Cristin Miller), A mythical journey through contemporary dreams, the divine realm and the underworld, exploring grief, climate change and ultimately, agency.
Running November 5-22, 2026 at the MLK FAME Center in the Green Room (rm 109), the plays will perform in rotating repertory Wednesday-Saturday nights as well as Saturday and Sunday matinees.

The Shattered Glass Project is unique in Seattle’s rich theatrical ecosystem in presenting a festival created by a cohort of women, and non-binary, and transgender directors and playwrights supporting one another through a year of skill building and play development workshops.
The 2026 New Works Festival: New Voices, New Narratives is the culmination of our newly-redesigned Incubator/Mentor Program which began with a series of panels and workshops in Fall of 2025, continued in January 2026 with a playwright/director speed-dating event leading into a mentorship program starting in February, followed by the Plays in Progress Salon in May.
